Blanchland Abbey Acoustic Survey Presentation

As it’s been a little while since our last community events, we thought it would be good to have some relaxed (free) community evenings in the Village Hall, Long Room (Felons Bar).

A series of 4 evenings – each will be an opportunity to look at a different aspect of the 6As of Blanchland, including the graffiti found in the Abbey, the archaeological excavations, acoustic survey and archives.

There will be a mix of presentations by those who led the projects along with activities for you to take part in while enjoying a cuppa.

So pop the dates in your diaries and complete the booking form so we know which events you would like to come along to (you can come to as many or as few as you want).

Saturday 24th February 6.30pm – 8pm – Acoustic Surveys

Join Dr GIanluca Foschi from Newcastle University’s McCord Centre for Landscape to see the impressive acoustic models of the Abbey his detailed laser surveys have created.

We will also be considering how we can use this data to understand and share the distinctive aural footprints in this historic building.

You can also sign up to receive the booking form along with newsletters here.
