More about the musicians:
Ezra is a dark folk musician from Northumberland now resident in Leith. His music blends poetic lyrics with delicate melodies and intricate finger picking guitar. His music and lyrics are evocative of the bleak moorlands and ancient landscapes of the North East of England.
Ezra’s second album, ‘Tor and Lea’, was released in 2024 to widespread praise. It received great reviews in London Folk Magazine and The Crack Magazine, and Ezra was interviewed by NARC magazine in order to promote it. Alongside his first album, ‘The November Guest’ released in 2019, Ezra’s music has more than 20k streams on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, and has been played on Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing.
In February 2025, Ezra celebrated the release of ‘Tor and Lea’ with a sold-out show at Leith Depot in Edinburgh, and he is gaining a strong following among British folk fans as he prepares to release his third album in early 2026.
Hels is an alt-country/indie musician hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne. Known for her ethereal vocals, she has captivated audiences and gained a grassroots following across the North East.
Her debut EP ‘Just what I Do’, released January 2025, has earned support from BBC Introducing, leading to a live session on the North East show and an opening slot at the ‘BBC Introducing Live From The Glasshouse’ series in April 2025.
Drawing influences from artists like Maggie Rogers and Mary Chapin Carpenter, she has been praised by local magazines as “startlingly magnificent” with “powerful, classic song writing”.
Hels’ lyrics are both relatable and steeped in traditional country storytelling, making her a unique and compelling voice in the alt-country/indie genre
